Electronic Billing complaint.


I had purchased an item from Kohl's Toms River, NJ store on Jun 20th. Today I received a email that my statement was available. Upon opening my statement the amount I owed was $16 more than my original purchase. The increase was listed as Late Fee ($15) Interest ($1). I called Kohl's at 1-800-564-5740 and spoke to a rep "Virginia",who was exceptionally considerate.I explained that I did not receive an earlier email statement and also, This had happened once before within the last year. I requested she change my billing to Mail and she said she would waive the charges. I wanted to immediately pay my original balance and Virginia connected with "Raphael". He said "he could not waive the interest charge",and I paidthe purchased price plus $1.oo. I believe I shouldn't have to pay any additional cost because I did not receive an earlier bill to pay before I was charge interest and late fees. Because this happened once before I wonder if other Kohl's customers have had this happen and how many may have just paid the fee and interest even though they did not receive a timely bill.
