A few days ago I received my flyer and a 30% off coupon. It was valid starting today and I thought I better check my balance. I only had 32.00 available credit left, so last night I made a 600.00 payment online. At 12:30 this morning I tried to place my order. When I put my PROMO code in, it said I wasnt eligible yet. I assumed my payment had been posted yet, so I waited till morning and tried again. It said the same thing.Well Am Ex certainly wasnt going to give me 30% off anything, so I called customer service. After waiting, I finally talked to an assistant and thought I had it straightened out. She told me, that they would cancel the Am Ex and credit my Kohls account the 30 percent and what my new bill would be. She told me that I would receive a confirmation shortly via email. It didnt come, so I called back and talked to another man. Apparently the computer just billed Am Ex and not my Kohls acct. He told me that one of my items was not available and the order would be credited by 350.00 which was the price of the item I ordered. Also that Am Ex had a temporary hold of 660.00 for 72 hrs. What?? This was their error and not only did I not authorize this but they billed Am Ex for an item that wasnt even available!!! They told me this was the best they could do. I am stunned. The item ws an Xbox 1 for my grandson and when I ordered it, it never said it wasnt available. They billed my Am Ex card as though it was available. I was on the phone on hold talking to three different people and they all told me different things. I asked for a supervisor and the man I talked to was not willing to let me talk until I became irate. The guy finally told me I could have the 660.00 hold lifted from Am Ex if I called them and got a fax number for Kohls to use. So, on top of this major screw up, they want me to pursue it with Am Ex if I want the hold lifted before 72 hrs. I am simply appalled at this PR. Now I need to shop elswhere for the XBox 1 but can't use my Am Ex for several days and I will be out of town at that time. Kohl's will be stocking this item sometime next week and I honestly feel they should reserve one for me, bill my Kohl's card to atone for one sloppy error after the next. My husband and I are senior citizens and do most of our ordering online. I need to be able to trust the store I do business with.
